Currently, there is an ATWILL option for the TIMES value in the SPELLS tag, but a subtly different CONTINUAL (or CONTINUALLY) option would allow many spell-like effects that are continuous in nature to be represented.
In the Orb of Storms, for example, there are 1/day and 1/month powers, and the "possessor of the orb is continually protected by an endure elements effect." The Eyes of Doom grant a continual Deathwatch spell. In other cases, such as energy resistance, the value could be coded as continual protection by a Resist Energy spell, at least if the type could also be coded.
The ATWILL is coded into the OS IIRC. Having messed with that some time ago to update the layout, that sticks out as OS. I'm not sure if the TAG can handle any free text James, but if it's not erroring, then I'll see about moving this to OS.
Perhaps TIMES can be made to accept a text string, for Cont., Use Activated, or whatever.
Also, and perhaps this would be another JIRA, both "At Will" and whatever else could be made to appear like, say, "x3" does on the Spells > Known Spells tab for a spell useable 3 times per day. (At Will does, of course, appear on the character sheet.)
I've had a further look at this one. There is specific code to handle ATWILL. Any other text there is assumed to be a variable name, and so will evaluate to 0. To support this we could add some code to two places (formula and SPELLMEM tag) to handle CONTINUALLY. There would then need to be OS work to include support for it.
Might I suggest a new addon then to handle non Variables?
So 'TEXT.x' with x being the displayed Text
Will that work?
If you don't like 'TEXT', I'm okay with 'DISPLAY' or whatever would fit the bill. It just seems like instead of doing a piecemeal approach every time someone has a new request, this would kill all those future birds with an easy to expand tag.
