I made a character with a familiar. The familiar has the character’s rank except in Linguistics. The familiar should have them and languages understood too.
There’s none, nothing stops the familiar from choosing language the master doesn’t understand.
I also wanted to point out that these languages will only be understood by standard familiar (the animal/vermin ones, not special improved) because they don’t have the ability to speak. Even the animal familiar that have a supernatural ability to speak (raven, thrush, parrot) won’t get extra spoken language with linguistics.
Linguistics ranks and associated languages are now copied from master to familiar (and animal companion etc!). As there are no rules stating that bonus racial languages etc are copied, these will not be added.
There’s no rule indicating the familiar gets the same language than the master either. It means they follow the general rule and can pick anything.

Yep, that's catered for - you can always change your choices through the
languages section n the summary tab.
With the ability to change the languages, it’s fixed.
Don’t know if updating the doc to indicate that the default are the master’s choice (because it is a general change, not just for Linguistics) is needed.
