I'm creating PCGen sheets from Paizo's published NPC characters (part of the Adventure Path) so I can modify the character as the campaign progresses.
It seems Paizo think nothing of adding an arbitrary Profession, not listed in any source book, but something that makes sense to the reader.
In this specific case: AP#39 "City of Seven Spears". The Pathfinder agent leader is a Bard/Rogue/Pathfinder Delver (from Seekers of Secrets, p.58).
He has Profession("Archaeologist") - makes perfect sense, but is not in the loaded source books.
I could break off, save the character, dive into Homebrew, and create an Archaeologist profession, with no actual game effect... but what I actually wanted to do was just finish creating the character.
This aspect affects:
Profession - any name, no game effect
Craft - some have game effects, most don't. Add any name, no game effect
Language - the language of the X monster, no game effect
It'd be nice, but not essential, if adding a new specialization of Profession/Craft made it available for Skill Focus. However, as that may be complex, I'd settle for hacking Homebrew to get that.
I realise it's asking a bit much, and that PCGen's preferred/designed operation is via pre-loaded LST files, but this sort of thing would be ever so useful.
Pathfinder core rolebooks
That would certainly be a useful feature to have, but it is not a bug.
