I loaded only Pathfinder CR and Bestiary. Under preferences | Equipment I selected "Automatically Generate Equipment" and "Racially Resized Armor, Shields, and Clothing". It failed to load and gave me the log file error below. Not sure if this is code or data.
Thank you for digging into it deeper.
hey we've discussed this a bit internally and we're likely going to just remove the auto-generation feature. It isn't hard to create equipment manually, and fixing this also leads to other problems:
performance of too many items
teaching code too much about the data.
cc from data who can speak to more of the problems. Ref CODE-3409, CODE-3123, CODE-761, CODE-1873.
We don't like to remove features willy-nilly so if you have a more specific use case we'd consider leaving the feature and/or implementing something else.
Thank you all for your careful consideration. I am grateful to you all each time I use your creation!
I haven’t had to create items for a non-medium-sized creature in quite a while, so the issue hasn’t come up.
I have some concerns about having to create all my non-medium-sized items manually, since a) I don’t LST code very often and thus fall out of practice, and b) it feels like LST syntax is becoming more complex (especially with all the new FACT stuff and new formula system). Would removing this feature make the product more or less user friendly? But having the item customizer still active takes some of the sting off. So all-in-all I guess this isn’t a common use case.
Well, that’s annoying. I’ve just noticed that one of the first things I did on this project has been removed. The last UI had a checkbox on the equipment screen that automatically resized equipment when you added it. Conor must have removed it when rewrote the UI. That was a very convenient feature.
cc and for future plans w.r.t. equipment creation and resizing
I actually remove the auto-resizing logic. It's being rolled into the new formula variation of equipement
we're going to leave this ticket open to make sure we solve the use case you have. It will likely take a different form: e.g. it might be a mass customizer for equipment, a LST editor, or just deeper lst magic.
