feature to cope with renaming items between versions

Description

every now and then, between versions of PCGen, one of the great apes working on the data sees fit to rename an item.
The current effect of that is that you open the PCG character file in the new release, and get messages, e.g.
"Could not find equipment: Renamed Thingummy".

One common trend derives from the habit the Paizo staff have of naming things "Thingy, Compact", which PCGen doesn't seem to use. So PCGen tended in the past to use "Thingy (Compact)". Then someone thinks it ought to be "Compact Thingy", and renames it... and the characters using it break.
After some digging, I find that's why it broke.

(Clearly regression tests aren't picking this up...)

So - I'd like to request a feature to help upgrades, Something to allow an equivalence on load: "Thingy (Compact)" is the same as "Compact Thingy", at least while loading. Possibly a rename-on-load.

FWIW, my problem is the "Spellbook, Compact" from the pathfinder ARG p.27, listed there as "Spellbook, Compact"
PCGen 6.07.05 has "Spellbook (Compact)", 6.07.06 has "Compact Spellbook".

Oddly other items fromt he same page have not been renamed: "Artificer's Lab (Portable)", "Bag (Bear)", "Tent (Hanging)"
