[pcgen] PCGEN Monk Wanderer - Far Traveler

Description

I am back with another question on this archetype. I was going back over my character's abilities very closely and I realized I had not taken advantage of the text of Far Traveler.

Far Traveler (Ex): At 1st level, the wanderer gains either one additional language known or proficiency in one exotic or martial weapon. At 4th level and every four levels thereafter, the wanderer may gain an additional language known or may retrain her weapon proficiency from this ability to a different exotic or martial weapon. This ability replaces the bonus feat gained at 1st level.

I was never able to choose whether to take another language or an exotic or martial weapon proficiency. I noticed under my feats that I have exotic weapon proficiency katana, but I didn't select it. I just recreated my character level by level to see if I missed it or just didn't realize I had done something along the way. By level 5 I had seen nothing that allowed me to either add the language or the weapon proficiency and comparing my two files, the new one did not have the proficiency that was listed on my original character. I added a level of ninja at this point, since I was forced to take one in the course of the campaign I am in, and still no weapon proficiency. I then clicked on the character sheet tab, and then went back to feats. Sure enough, I have exotic weapon proficiency katana on the new character.

It seems something isn't working right, I can't remove that feat, nor can I find a way to edit it at this point. Any help is appreciated as I would like to change the weapon selected. Language isn't relevant in the campaign I am in, but I would like to take the weapon proficiency.

Your choices have been implemented.

Katana is automatically granted to you by being a Ninja.

Ninja are proficient with all simple weapons, plus the kama, katana, kusarigama, nunchaku, sai, shortbow, short sword, shuriken, siangham, and wakizashi.

I am not sure I understand what you mean. I have Katana from two sources, one from Ninja and one from Exotic Weapon Proficiency. The Exotic Weapon Proficiency appears to have come from Far Traveler which is supposed to grant a language or an Exotic or Martial Weapon Proficiency at 1st level, which can be changed at 4th level. Are you saying you fixed the selection for Far Traveler, or that I received Katana from my level of Ninja?

I have attached a screen print showing the feat. It is colored as an automatic feat and I can't edit it or even figure out where to edit it in the data files.

Two things:

1) No, you have Katana from one source - Ninja. Yes, you have an automatically granted feat called Exotic Weapon Proficiency with the choice of Katana. It's there to support one-handed use of the Katana should you choose to implement it as such, as opposed to the two-handed use you get as a martial weapon. I can assure you the Far Traveler Archetype has nothing to do with the EWP. Ninja is granting the EWP. You can't remove it cause it's granted by the Ninja. Hence the nice GOLDEN/YELLOW Automatic Color.

2) Far Traveler choice was never implemented, it's now set up in 6.3. Thus I implemented that, so you can select a Weapon Proficiency - Martial or Exotic ONCE, or select languages to learn, and if you really really want, I have a "Retrain" selection, so you can mark off the points in the pool. Changing the selection would still be done by altering the original ability.

Thus I fixed the implementation issue which was the main thrust of the request. And am clarifying the fact that EWP Katana was all from being a Ninja and nothing else.

Cheers,

You are a very talented individual.

Thank you for clarifying. I will look forward to the 6.03 release.
