[MSRD] Add the books NPCs to the encounter list

Description

SF ID: 1291795
Last Update: Comment added ( eddyanthony )
Details:

In the book they have made different quick-to-use NPC's
whom i find very practical for use as anonymous guards
of the main-baddie. Had made it much easier if you
added them to the encounter list instead of me having
to make their whole character sheet correct and
duplicate them.

Tried to do it myself by adding them as a monster, but
i got into some problems.

We should be able to do Modern NPC's with kits now, the switch to
abilities makes that possible. But as this isn't OGC what can we really
add?

I think this should be realized as Monster Kits. Currently
Kits still have issues with some of the modern methods.
Hopefully these problems with vanish, when some of the
modern workarounds will be replaced with Abilities.

Until we have that, I'm lowering the priority to 4.

I'm unassigning myself from this for the time. I have more
pressing thing to do right now and won't find the time for this.
Anyone is welcome to pick this up. If noone will, I may revisit
this at a later time. - Frank

Now, to answer the OGL question. Yes, I'd see the need to
release the *.pcg files that PCGen creates as OGC. We've
talked in the past of doing our own files for information
not listed elsewhere. In fact, I think Eddy just committed
Bracers +9 and +10, as they were absent in the RSRD.

I'm moving this over to data. I don't see *.pcgs as code.

He is referring to Ordinary Archetypes, Human characters
that come as Low-level, Mid-Level or High-Level characters
like Bounty Hunter or Drug Dealer. With the new Kits It
should be possible to set up something for those, but they
are not OGC.
Maybe I could do an example or two with selfmade
archetypes.
Would these selfmade archetypes also need to be set up
within PCGen Open Gaming Content? An archetype is
basically a premade NPC. - Frank

Frank, MSRD question...

I think some example Monsters once we have KITs up and
going can help there. Do you know about any others?

I was thinking about the MSRD, just somehow forgot to write it.

Hmmm...Sorry for that. I didnt think. It aint legal to take
thing directly from the book, right?

But what i hoped for was the possibility to make some quick
characters (NPC's, without having to follow rules, and
without details) who would be added to the encounter list
(in the GMGEN) together with all the monsters. Then you
could add them to the combat easy.

I was hoping you could just add the NPC's from chapter
"Friends and Foes", those Police-officer, hacker, thugs, and
so on, to the encounter list, but i guess that aint legal.
At least make it possible to put them in ourselves.

Sorry for the confusion...

Huh? Are you talking SRD/RSRD? The DMG NPC tables
aren't OGC (at least, I don't remember seeing them in the
RTFs) and so we can't include them.

Are you asking for some pre-made PCG files for NPCs?

I'm not sure what you mean by encounter list....
